3D Model of Voyager 1 for simulation/3D Rendering projects. Voyager 1, launched by NASA on September 5, 1977, stands as humanity's farthest-reaching spacecraft, having journeyed beyond the heliopause into interstellar space since August 2012. During its grand tour of the outer solar system, it delivered groundbreaking images and data from Jupiter in 1979 revealing Io's active volcanoes and the planet's faint rings and from Saturn in 1980, where it uncovered new moons, a complex ring system, and details about Titan's hazy atmosphere. Equipped with a golden record carrying Earth's sounds and images for any potential extraterrestrial finders, the probe continues to transmit faint signals back to Earth using its aging nuclear power source, even as it speeds away at about 17 kilometers per second, on track to reach one light-day from our planet by late 2026.
