Aerodynamics analysis of a car hauler using cfd
Description:
Extensive research has been conducted on the aerodynamics of commercial trucks, primarily due to their significant impact on fuel efficiency. The trucking industry faces the challenge of reducing fuel consumption, making it a crucial concern. This paper focuses on evaluating the drag of a standard c

ar carrier and its various modifications through Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations. Several covers, functioning as aerodynamic devices, are tested to assess their effectiveness in reducing fuel consumption. The study compares drag coefficients, velocity vectors, pressure contours, and turbulence kinetic energy among different fairing configurations. The results reveal that while all covers demonstrate a reduction in drag coefficient compared to the conventional car carrier, two specific covers exhibit notable reductions in drag.
