Description:

Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations of high-pressure, turbulent premixed Bunsen flame experiments from the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI). The Algebraic Flame Surface Wrinkling (AFSW) model was implemented in OpenFOAM, an open-source CFD solver. A two-dimensional axial-symmetric model with

the standard k–ɛ turbulence model and wall functions was used for the numerical simulations. The simulations were performed for two fuel/air mixtures: 100% CH4 (methane) and 60% CH4 + 40% H2 (methane-hydrogen blend). Thermophysical and transport properties of the mixtures were calculated as a function of temperature using Cantera, an open-source suite for chemical kinetics, thermodynamics, and transport processes. The GRI-Mech 3.0 chemical mechanism was employed for these calculations. Case (Input) files of Ansys Fluent 19.R1 and OpenFOAM version 8 are attached for download. Moreover Python-based Cantera script to compute the thermophysical coefficients and molar weights of the unburnt and burnt mixture is also attached.
