The main curved tube represents the aorta, specifically comprising the ascending aorta on the left, the aortic arch at the curve, and the descending aorta extending down on the right. The three major supra-aortic vessels branching from the aortic arch are the brachiocephalic artery (innominate artery), the left common carotid artery, and the left subclavian artery, which collectively supply blood to the head, neck, and arms. These anatomical models are commonly utilized in biomedical engineering, medical imaging visualization, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations to investigate blood flow behavior (hemodynamics) within the cardiovascular system. In such CFD studies, the aortic geometry typically exhibits laminar flow conditions, as evidenced by a Reynolds number of approximately 1331 based on an equivalent diameter of 35.88 mm. These models facilitate the study of various cardiovascular pathologies including aortic aneurysms, atherosclerosis, and aortic dissection through advanced visualization techniques and patient-specific simulations.
