epair. Here simulation of flow through a rotating high solidity vertical axis wind turbine using OpenFOAM is shared. pimpleDyMFoam solver is used for the computation. The blade is operating at a tip speed ratio of 1.0. The blade cross section is based on NACA 0015 with a rotor solidity of 1.5. Based (mesh+case) on the work of Travis Carrigan (https://github.com/traviscarrigan/OpenFOAM-2D-VAWT). More simulations with varying parameters will follow shortly. Stay tuned!
