OpenFOAM (Open source Field Operation And Manipulation) is a free and open source CFD (computational fluid dynamics) software tool. It was first released in 2004 by OpenCFD Limited (https://www.openfoam.com/history/, https://www.openfoam.com/about/). Written in C++ OpenFOAM can handle compressible and incompressible flows, buoyancy-driven flows, multiphase flows, particle-tracking, combustion, conjugate heat transfer (CHT), molecular dynamics (MD), electromagnetics and solid dynamics. OpenFOAM can be installed on Windows 10 (https://openfoam.org/download/windows-10/), Ubuntu (https://openfoam.org/download/6-ubuntu/) as well as on Mac (https://www.openfoam.com/download/install-binary-mac.php).
