About the CalculiX, Free Finite Element Method (FEM) based Tool Project
CalculiX is a free and open-source FEA (finite element analysis) code. Calculix can perform both linear and non-linear simulations. It uses abaqus input format for input files hence commercial pre-processors can also be used. It can write mesh related data for both commercial codes like nastran, abaqus, ansys, code-aster as well as opensource CFD codes like dolfyn, duns, ISAAC and OpenFOAM. Compatible platforms inlcude Unix, Linux and Windows. Copyright (C) 1998 Guido Dhondt and Klaus Wittig. Reference: http://www.calculix.de/. Attached Image based on the examples of Prof. Martin Kraska, Brandenburg University Of Applied Sciences.
