About the Antonov AN 225 3D Model Project
3D Model of Antonov AN 225 Mriya aircraft rendered in Blender. The Antonov An-225 Mriya was a massive strategic airlift cargo aircraft developed by the Antonov Design Bureau in the Soviet Union during the 1980s. Originally designed to transport the Buran space shuttle and components of the Energia rocket, it was the heaviest aircraft ever built, with a maximum takeoff weight of 640 tons. The An-225 had an enormous cargo hold capable of carrying ultra-heavy and oversized freight up to 250 tons internally or 200 tons externally on its upper fuselage. It was powered by six turbofan engines and featured a unique twin vertical tail to accommodate large external loads. The aircraft held over 240 world records for payload and size. Only one An-225 was completed and operational; this plane was destroyed in 2022 during the Russian invasion of Ukraine, with plans announced to complete a second partially built airframe to replace it.
