About the 2D Shock-Bubble CFD Simulation Project

The first image presents contours of 𝛼2 (volume fraction of fluid 2), clearly delineating the bubble interface as it begins to distort under shock loading. The second image shows pressure contours, where the incident shock, transmitted/reflected waves, and strong pressure gradients around the bubble boundary are visible. The third image shows velocity contours, highlighting flow acceleration around the bubble and the development of shear layers that drive interface roll-up and the onset of Richtmyer–Meshkov-type instability as the shocked interface evolves downstream.
