I assume from setup file you mean .cfx file. Actually .def/.res files can also be used as setup files. You just need to open them in CFX Pre-Processor. There you can modify/edit them as well. Moreover, in the refetch of this project you will also find the project with mesh files.

dear mr atif masood i am having a research about the effect of backlash between teeth on outlet pressure of external gear pumps. please guide me how to determine inlet and outlet condition so that by changing the backlash between the gears outlet pressure would change and would not be constant. please let me know to send you the problem conditions is needed. thank you for your time

I just checked again; file is not damaged. There are three files which you need (with correct order) to unrar the .res file. Version used for this simulation is 15.0

Why are holes drilled in both casing and gear ?

The casing in this simulation is representing basically the region in which fluid flow will occur. So the space which you are refering to as holes (if I understood you correctly) is space which in flow simulation not needed as there will be no flow there, therefore not considered.
