About the Saturn V Heavy Launch Vehicle 3D Model Project
3D Model of Saturn V super heavy-lift launch vehicle. Images are rendered in Blender. The Saturn V was NASA's monumental three-stage rocket, developed in the 1960s to fulfill President Kennedy's goal of landing humans on the Moon. Standing over 110 meters tall and weighing nearly 3 million kilograms fully fueled, it generated more than 34 million newtons of thrust at liftoff using five massive F-1 engines in its first stage (S-IC), which burned RP-1 kerosene and liquid oxygen to propel the vehicle to about 68 km altitude in under three minutes. The second stage (S-II), powered by five J-2 engines using liquid hydrogen and oxygen, accelerated it to orbital velocity, while the single-engine third stage (S-IVB) injected the Apollo spacecraft toward the Moon or placed Skylab into orbit. Launched 13 times between 1967 and 1973 from Kennedy Space Center, it achieved flawless success on all nine crewed Apollo missions, including the historic Apollo 11 landing in 1969, cementing its legacy as the most powerful rocket ever flown.
