About the Throttle Flow Simulation Project
Water flow through a narrow duct (throttle) is simulated in 2D using OpenFOAM's cavitatingFoam solver. This is an example/tutorial from OpenFOAM test cases. cavitatingFoam is a transient solver based on the homogeneous equilibrium model from which the compressibility of the liquid/vapour ”mixture” is obtained. Turbulence is modeled with SST model. Flow induction is based on pressure difference between two chambers. OpenFOAM simulation files are also attached.
