About the CFD Simulation of Centrifugal Pump Impeller With Splitter Blades Project
The purpose of this work is to analyze and compare the results of computational simulations conducted using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) in centrifugal pump impellers. Three impellers were simulated: 1) the original impeller, 2) the original impeller with splitter blades placed at the outlet, and 3) the original impeller with splitter blades placed at the inlet. The splitter blades occupied 30% of the length of the main blades. These simulations were performed using the ANSYS-CFX software system, with a rotational speed of 1500 rpm and varying flow rates. The chosen turbulence model was the Shear Stress Transport (SST) model. The obtained results were utilized to generate impeller blade head curves and illustrate pressure distribution and streamline behavior within the impeller. It was observed that the inclusion of splitter blades resulted in a reduction of impeller blade head, particularly in the impeller with outlet splitters, where the reduction was more pronounced.
